BO DIDDLEY 1928 - 2008 The man was not only a Rock icon -- he was a benevolent person. He not only gave Rock 'n Roll and the world a fresh new sound -- he gave an unknown 16-year-old Texas kid a break and took him under his wing. He traveled around the world hundreds of times, but still took the time to help me with my career and give me valuable advice. He played the biggest concerts and stadiums in the world, yet still insisted on cooking a fresh meal for my family, my band, and me whenever we visited him at his home. He wrote and performed timeless songs which were covered by the most famous names in music, yet he still found the time to collaborate and share his ideas with a boy from little ole' Galveston TX.
Bo, I know you can hear me, and I just want to thank you for believing in me. I am thankful for every minute I was able to spend with you. I've always loved your music, but more than that I'll never forget your generosity. To me you will always be legendary, not just in music, but as a person. You've made so many people happy, including myself and everyone in my life. I'm proud to have called you my friend. You are loved and missed.
